On October 28th, 2025 the City of Doerun was awarded $45,000 from the Department of Natural Resources to fund improvements to Fincher Park. These improvements will include additional picnic tables and coverings, soccer goals, resurfacing and striping of the basketball courts, new hoops and nets and landscaping additions. Additional improvements will include benches at the pickleball courts. These improvements will take place through the winter and be ready for the citizens of Doerun to enjoy next spring.
