The Doerun City Council is composed of the Mayor and five at-large Council Members. Each is elected by qualified city residents and serves a four-year term.
Regular public meetings are typically held on the first Monday of each month at 6:00 PM in the City Council Chambers, located next to City Hall. All meetings are open to the public.

Michael Campbell is the current Mayor of Doerun, having been elected in November 2017. Prior to serving as Mayor, he dedicated 26 years as a City Council Member, stepping down to run for his current position.
Mayor Campbell is also employed at City Electric in Albany, Georgia.

Chad Kimbrell has served on the Doerun City Council since 2013. He currently sits on the Audit and Human Resources Committees. Outside of city service, Chad works at Procter & Gamble in Albany, Georgia.

Judy Coleman has served on the Doerun City Council since 2016. She currently serves on the Audit and Community Service Committees. Ms. Coleman is a retiree of Phoebe Putney Hospital in Albany, Georgia.

Jeffery Campbell was elected to the Doerun City Council in 2024. A retired business owner, he is committed to giving back to the community and serving the citizens of Doerun. Jeff and his wife, Charla, have four children, and he has been a resident of Doerun since 1971.

Mike Blair has served on the Doerun City Council since 2013. He currently serves on the Public Safety and Utilities Committees. Mr. Blair is a retiree of City Electric in Valdosta, Georgia.

Willie D. Slaughter, Jr. has been a council member since January of 2023. He is a U.S. Army retiree after 20 years of service and a 2020 graduate of Valdosta State University with a B.S. in Organizational Leadership.
